Westport Private Athletic Activities

Horseback Riding

Fairfield County Hunt Club
With more than 34 acres of open fields and practice rings and a large network of public and private bridle trails, equestrian activities here provide young riders the skills and confidence to compete. There’s also a six-lane, 25-yard heated pool and racket sports.


Cedar Point Yacht Club
Young sailors from ages 8 to 17 are invited to learn sailing and racing from late June through mid-August. High school sailing takes place on weekday afternoons in spring and fall with an extensive local regatta schedule. Club membership is not a requirement.


Sylvan Indoor Tennis Courts
Kids of all ages can learn the art of tennis indoors at Sylvan Tennis Club as part of the Fairfield County Tennis program. Forehand, backhand and everything in between (even court etiquette) is included in the instruction. The indoor season runs from September 2009 through May 2010. Westport Dance Academy
For more than 30 years this organization has been home to classical ballet, modern, jazz and tap instruction. Classes are available for all ages and all levels of ability

Westport Nature & Science

Kids from 3 to 15 years old can explore and learn about the swamps, streams, ponds, a deciduous forest and open fields of Earthplace, a 62-acre wildlife sanctuary. Summer camp is offered as well.

Westport Arts & Culture

Westport School of Music

With lessons and programs for children, toddlers and kids with special needs, the Westport School of Music is a nonprofit educational organization providing the finest classical music instruction at affordable rates.

Westport Arts Center

The Westport Art Center is a lovely facility in downtown Westport with many dynamic art education programs for kids. These include galleries, family events, outreach programs, workshops and summer camps. The Center also hosts birthday parties.

Levitt Pavillion

Showcasing free performances, the nonprofit Levitt Pavilion for the Performing Arts is an open-air summer festival in an amphitheater overlooking the Saugatuck River.
